North Atlantic Hurricane Season Becomes Record Breaking
The 2020 North Atlantic Hurricane Season has certainly been hyper-active. And now it is officially record-breaking. Tropical Storm Theta became the 29th named storm of the season Monday night. This number surpasses the previous record of 28 named storms set in 2005.

And it is likely that the number of named storms will continue to rise. A tropical wave over the Caribbean Sea has a 70 percent chance of becoming a tropical depression by this weekend according to the National Hurricane Center. Beyond that, the North Atlantic Hurricane Season officially runs until November 30th, though any storm that forms on or before December 31st will be counted as part of the 2020 season.
