Spring Blizzard Strikes Plains States

Though the calendar now reads spring, winter made a grand reappearance across parts of Nebraska on Wednesday. Snow totals of up to 16 inches across the state along with wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, resulting in blizzard conditions. The blowing and drifting snow resulted in the closure of the westbound side of Interstate 80 at North Platte, NE. The highway was closed in both directions near Big Springs, NE on Wednesday.
