Hail Accumulated Like Snow Across Parts of Arizona

While the state of Arizona is usually not associated with precipitation, quite a bit fell over parts of the state this week. Though parts of the West Valley, near Phoenix, received 1 to 3 inches of rainfall Thursday morning, it was hail that made headlines across the region. In towns such as Buckeye and Goodyear, hailstones as large as silver dollars fell. So much hail fell, that it looked like these areas had received accumulating snow. Numerous cars were damaged as a result of the hail.

Though dry weather is expected through early next week in the region, another storm will bring the threat of more rain to the area towards the middle of next week.
