Tornado Strikes Woodstock, Connecticut
The past several weeks have featured numerous thunderstorms across the northeastern United States as the region has been caught between slow-moving cold fronts to the west and high pressure to the east over the Atlantic Ocean. Some of these thunderstorms have produced tornadoes, such as the one that touched down in Woodstock, Connecticut back on August 4th. Though the storm was only an EF-0, it still knocked down numerous trees and closed portions of CT routes 197 and 198 for a time. The tornado also knocked out power to over 3,000 customers in the area.
